INTRODUCTION

Are the spirits calling you to be a healer in the shamanic tradition? Follow your calling in an integrated, intensive training program: As part of this committed circle, you will develop your capacities to bring healing and empowerment to others through classic shamanic practices.

This program trains participants in a variety of shamanic healing and empowerment methods that may be brought into practice with others. Past graduates have been called to serve in the individual healing of people or animals, others to work with land and the earth, and yet others to work on behalf of social healing. Some shamanic healers serve all these aspects of the indivisible web that joins us all.

Many people study these age-old methods out of a desire to be of service to their family and friends. Others may feel called to serve outside their personal circle, whether in a community or in a professional setting. All kinds of service are honored in indigenous cultures, where shamans commonly pursue other work in addition to their shamanic calling.

Apprentices who desire to use these methods professionally should plan first to gain experience with friends and shamanic peers before bringing the work into professional life. While apprentices will have their own powerful experiences in the course of the ten months, due to the training nature of the program it is not a venue in which to seek one's own healing. If your desire is to receive shamanic healing, please pursue private work with a qualified shamanic practitioner.

Throughout these pages the word client refers to anyone receiving your services, in whatever context the work takes place.
